Foothill Aviation, LLC is based at the Calaveras County Airport in San Andreas, CA. and Lake Iliamna, Alaska. We operate year-round with the opportunity for advanced summer flying in Alaska. The CA seaplane base is 10 minutes away from KCPU on a private cattle ranch. Our Alaska location is located at Lake Iliamna near Bristol Bay. We provide primary and advanced training in both straight and amphibian floats. In our CA location, we have a Super Cub PA-18 and a PA-12 on straight floats, and a Cessna 182 with a P-Ponk upgrade on Aerocet amphibious floats. Our Alaska location offers advanced training in a PA-12, C-206, and a Beaver. We also offer transition training in customer-owned aircraft and insurance checkouts. Basic Course prices quoted include 6 hours of flight training, aircraft rental for checkride, study materials, and all ground instruction required to pass the checkride. If additional training is required, it’s based on dual instruction rates. Examiner’s fee is not included. We are also excited to offer training trips between our locations. Call for details!

We accept cash, personal checks, and credit cards. There is a 3% processing fee on all credit cards. We require a 400.00 deposit when booking. If you fly in, we can provide local transportation. The closest major airport is Sacramento for CA and Anchorage for Alaska Location.
