P&N Flight and Charter was founded in 1981 by Jan Walton and her late husband, Perry. Countless professional pilots with careers in aviation trained at P&N Flight & Charter and many stop back in to share their fond memories of learning to fly at P&N.  Some will even radio a “hello” from commercial airliners some 35,000 feet above the airport. Learning to fly is something special and learning to fly with great people adds to the magic of your flying experience.  Jan is still an active Certified Flight Instructor at P&N, for fixed-wing aircraft and helicopters. Cole started flying at P&N as a young student who wanted to do something other than the status-quo of flying for the airlines.

There is an ambitious vision for the future of P&N Flight & Charter. It is an aviation learning destination for aspiring pilots in the Midwest. The goal is to focus on all aspects of general aviation and provide a full range of service.

1313 Scottsville Rd., Rochester, NY 14624

The Rochester Air Center is located in western New York, in the heart of the Finger Lakes region. Train for your seaplane rating minutes away from five different Finger Lakes with miles of shoreline and water as well as protected bays on Lake Ontario. This allows plenty of practical experience flying the seaplane and on-the-water maneuvering. Practice amphibious operations from boat ramp to hard-surface parking in Hammondsport, New York, on Keuka Lake near the Glenn Curtiss Museum and the annual seaplane homecoming.
We work with two Designated Pilot Examiners to make it a seamless process from training to checkride when you are ready. The Rochester Air Center is one of the very few places that you can rent the aircraft, 15 hours amphibious time required. We were featured in January/February 2019 Water Flying Magazine, “Incapable of Hearing “NO!”
