The first weekend in May every year, Alaskans gather to celebrate aviation and plan for the upcoming flying season by attending the largest free aviation event in the nation!
2021 was the first time when the Great Alaska Aviation Gathering was held in Palmer. The pandemic shut down the gathering in 2020, and the need for public safety prompted them to relocate in 2021. The Alaska State Fairgrounds was the obvious location to pull of such a large-scale event.
Thankfully, the move was prosperous for the event, and the great majority of feedback we received urged us to make the change permanent. So, 2024 will bring us back again to the valley. This year, we’ll offer more exhibitor space, more education opportunities, and an all-new business-to-business component. The improvements won’t just focus on aviation business. We’re inviting more food trucks, more aircraft, more youth activities, and more aviation demonstrations. For the first time, we will allow airplane camping throughout the weekend!
